What’s a camera without a lens? A camera obscura! Light rays reflect off of every object, and when these reflections hit the inside of a camera, the image is reproduced upside down and left to right. While a camera obscura only projects images (and doesn’t record them on paper), even today’s high-tech cameras operate using the same basic principles. In this program, children create a simple camera obscura using toilet paper rolls. Recommended ages 5-10.
